๐Ÿ’ฌ A SPACE THAT DISAPPEARS WHEN YOU'RE DONE

Ephemeral Chat for
Groups Who Need Privacy

Support circles, peer groups, recovery communities, activist networks, private teams. A free encrypted chat room that holds the conversation โ€” and forgets it completely when everyone leaves.

WHO IT'S FOR

Some conversations need
to stay between the people in the room.

Not every group wants a permanent chat history in a database somewhere. Some conversations are sensitive by nature. MiutChat gives them a space where the record ends when the conversation does.

๐Ÿค
Support Groups
Recovery circles, grief groups, mental health peer support. Members share vulnerably. A room that leaves no log means members can speak without worrying about a breach, a subpoena, or a screenshot leaking to the wrong person.
โœŠ
Activist & Organiser Networks
Coordinating a protest, a campaign, or a community action. No persistent chat history means no server-side record of who planned what. The room code is the only credential โ€” share it carefully, and the conversation stays contained.
๐ŸŽ“
Students & Study Groups
A one-time study session, an exam prep group, a private tutorial. No app install, no account, no school email required. Spin up a room with a code, finish the session, and it's gone.
๐Ÿ’ผ
Freelancers & Contractors
Discussing a project without leaving a permanent trail in a client's system or your own. A room for the duration of the contract โ€” encrypted, code-protected, and gone when the project ends.
๐ŸŒ
International & Cross-Border Teams
Teams that span jurisdictions with different data laws. No user data is stored, so there's no GDPR, CCPA, or local data-residency problem to solve. The conversation happens and the data doesn't persist.
๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป
Developers & Security Researchers
Discussing a vulnerability, a CVE, or a client's sensitive infrastructure. The open-source code means you can audit the encryption yourself. No proprietary black box, no terms of service that give the platform the right to read your messages.

HOW IT COMPARES

You don't want to download
another app. Good.

Most encrypted chat apps require an account, a phone number, or a download. MiutChat requires none of those things โ€” by design.

THE FEATURES

Everything a private group needs.
Nothing it doesn't.

End-to-End Encrypted
AES-256-GCM. Encrypted in your browser before it leaves your device. The key is derived from your room code โ€” which only your group knows.
Per-Message Timers
Set individual messages to auto-delete after 30 seconds, 5 minutes, or 1 hour. For the extra-sensitive moment in an otherwise normal conversation.
Approval Gate
Turn on approval-required so the room admin reviews each join request before admitting them. Only the people you trust get in.
Room Expiry Control
Set the room to delete instantly when empty, after 5 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, or never. Match the room lifetime to your session's needs.
File & Image Sharing
Share files and images in the encrypted room. They're stored encrypted and deleted with the room. No file hosting trail left behind.
No Account, Ever
No email, no phone, no password, no profile. Members join with a room code. That's it. Nothing in any database links them to the session. This is what secure chat without an account looks like.

QUESTIONS

Things people actually ask.

There's no hard cap. Rooms are designed for small groups โ€” support circles, teams, study groups. They work best with under 50 members where everyone knows the room code. Very large rooms are technically possible but not what MiutChat is optimised for.
MiutChat protects messages from server-side exposure and database breaches. It cannot prevent a participant from taking a screenshot of their own screen โ€” no application can. The trust model here is the same as any in-person conversation: you're trusting the people in the room. MiutChat protects you from everyone outside it.
Yes. Set the room expiry to "Never" โ€” it won't auto-delete when empty. Share the same room code every week. Members who know the code can return. The room retains its encryption keys across sessions. You can also set it to delete after each session by setting expiry to "Instant" or "5 minutes" and creating a fresh room each time โ€” whichever feels right for your group.
MiutChat is free and has no plans to run ads. The project is open source โ€” you can read the code, verify there are no hidden trackers, and even host your own instance if you want complete control. The goal is a useful tool, not a monetisation funnel.
No. The room admin sees display names and whether members are online. No IP addresses, no device fingerprints, no join timestamps are exposed to other members. The admin's controls are limited to approving joins, promoting members, and removing disruptive participants โ€” not surveilling the group.
